HORSES FOR COURSES

one, two & three day experiences for adults

Our day courses are designed for adults with little to no previous experience with horses- all are welcome.

These courses can be done as a single day, or multiple days over any time frame you choose. Small groups of up to 6 people ensure a safe, supportive experience. Each day is designed to help you slow down, feel grounded and build confidence through meaningful interactions with our horses. Working from the ground, you will learn to be present, adjust and read body language, breath and set intention with your movements to achieve goals. The course is adaptable to different groups, whether it’s a group of friends wanting to enjoy a new experience with soul, or a small business wanting to create a more cohesive team environment. It is recommended you have a reasonable level of fitness and are able to walk/slow jog easily. No riding is involved in these courses.

Confidence through Connection

DAY 1

Working through awareness and safety to a feeling that “I can BE here”

We begin with introductions & a quick safety briefing. Our first look at the horses gives us a chance to observe the herd and learn about basic horse expression and body language, so we can move safely around them.

We then spend time grooming the horses, learning how to adjust our touch and movements to suit each horse. This is a great opportunity to slow down and be in the moment.

Finally, we learn how to move a horse in and around our space. Learning to adapt and adjust our energy and body language to get the best result from each horse.

Maximum of 6 participants 9.30am-2.30pm

Catered lunch included

Rebalance through Reflection

DAY 2

Using influence and feedback we learn that “I can affect what happens here”

Day two explores setting intention in our movements and reflecting on the feedback we are receiving. We explore some hands on techniques alongside grooming- how does this make our horse feel? how does it make us feel?

Through our groundwork session, we begin to look at how we can improve outcomes through noticing and adjusting, rather than pushing with force. Further practice with different horses shows us how to adapt to those around us.

Maximum 6 participants 9.30am-2.30pm

Catered lunch included

DAY 3

A deeper dive into our new found skills and confidence, being clear without force: “I can guide, calmly”

We begin, as usual, with our connection work through grooming and touch, introducing some of our more sensitive (but still very safe) horses to really fine tune reading and adapting our energy and focus.

Ground work includes some fun and games through obstacle courses and a bit of fancy rope work! Learning to follow through redirecting energy and holding spatial boundaries.

Maximum of 6 participants 9.30am-2.30pm
